MEET OUR FOUNDER, RUTH WOOD
From working on the shop floor to meeting world leaders
Ruth is an ICF-accredited coach who works with executives, leaders and teams.
Like many of us, her working life started with a weekend job in a shop as a teenager. That job laid the foundations of hard work and drive that have stayed with her throughout her career.
That career went on to take in 16 years in diplomacy and policy at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, where she met world leaders and oligarchs, dined with royalty and travelled the world. She’s worked with executive boards to develop visions and strategies and has led teams large and small, high performing and underperforming.
But careers aren’t just about what happens ‘in the office’.
Alongside her day job, Ruth has navigated the challenges of balancing long-term health needs and family life with everything else, coming (at times) close to burnout.
It’s this experience, along with her love of working with and striving to understand people, which makes her so passionate about resilient, warm-hearted leadership and helping people to maintain high performance for the long term.
